This is the minimum of our power!
The Sharia Court and Sudan´s government were forced to retreat.
Intisar Sharif Abdallah was saved from stoning!
According to the International Committee Against Stoning, under
international pressure, Khartoum Sharia Court revoked Intisar Sharif
Abdallah´s stoning sentence today Friday 22th June. Intisar is a
teenager. She was in the Omdurman prison with her five months child. She
was on the verge of being stoned to death but she was finally released
today.
International Committee Against Stoning and Children First Now with the
Humanitarian Institutions and all the people believing in freedom,
organized a broad global protest against Sudan´s cruel government and
established a broad international campaign to protested this barbaric
and medieval sentence.
The Sudanese´ embassies the world over received dozens of protest
letters in faxes and emails every day. In Sweden during a meeting with
the Consul General Embassy of Sudan, this brutal sentence was protested
and the immediate and unconditional release of Intisar was requested to
the Sudan´s government by Karim Shamohammadi,. During this meeting it
was emphasized that we will ignite the world against this sentence,
against the Sudan´s government ´s decision and against Khartoum Sharia
Court.
This withdrawal was only possible with the global relentless protests!
Our protests were answered and teenage Intisar was released.
Children First Now appreciates all those struggled for Intisar´s
freedom. This triumph is the result of the collective efforts of the
civilized world.
Sudan´s government and judiciary have learned these inhumane and
barbaric procedures from the Islamic Republic of Iran and must be
retreated.
