Support Behnam Ebrahimzadeh
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, a labour and children’s rights activist, and a member of the Committee to Pursue the Establishment of Workers’ Organisations in Iran, who has already served three years of a six-year sentence, while his 14-year old son is under treatment for leukaemia. Despite his son’s continued illness, Ebrahimzadeh was sent back to jail on 26th September following a short leave. The latest news is that on 20th October 2013 his family were refused a visit and his sentence has been extended by another 28 days allegedly for not having reported for return to prison while on leave.
Behnam transferred to the solitary confinement in ward 209, on 3rd of April 2014.Behnam Ebrahimzadeh’s family were prevented from visiting him in Evin prison by the prison’s authorities.On 29 June security forces inspected again his home for 4 hours and threatened his family and his personal documents and his son computer were taken.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh has been on Hunger Strike since August 8th, 2014 and now is in dangerous health conditions. His demands are to be transferred back to the Ward 350 at Evin prison and to receive medical treatments.
He was banished on August 12th, 2014 from the Evin Prison to the Ward 1 at Rajai Shahr Prison which is designated for common criminals whom are serving long sentences.
